This study examines the conceptual and procedural framework of the digital crime scene, a complex virtual space where crime transcends physical boundaries to encompass data and technological clouds. This shift imposes significant challenges regarding the fragility of digital evidence and its susceptibility to damage or alteration. Through a descriptive-analytical approach, this thesis aims to shed light on the modern technical and operational methods essential for inspecting the electronic crime scene, starting from the moment of discovery and preservation, leading to forensic analysis and the extraction of evidence that ensures legal admissibility before the judiciary. Furthermore, the study highlights the necessity of balancing the effectiveness of criminal investigations with the protection of individual privacy, emphasizing the importance of developing laws to keep pace with the technological surge, especially since these crimes rely primarily on software. It also addresses the aspect of promoting electronic awareness to protect individuals from cyberattacks that may compromise their sensitive data or financial assets.
